We are a small, what you might call a “boutique” conversion business, in that we prefer to focus on quality at a fair price, possibly at the expense of time. In other words, we aren’t the fastest, but we do fine work.

Owner Stephen Ulrich holds a degree in Film Studies & English Literature from the University of Pittsburgh and another degree in Business Administration from Albright College in Reading, PA. Why does he need 2 degrees? His first love is film. His second is business. Maybe he’ll get another someday.

Stephen shot his first film was shot and edited completely on Super 8mm motion picture film, and has been an enthusiast of the medium ever since. He started editing professionally on the very first professional computer-based editing systems, Avid Media Composer, in 1995 when a 1 GB drive cost $10,000. Now you can get thousands of GBs for under $100.

After college, he worked in post-production for over 10 years, with shows airing on PBS, Discovery Channel, TLC, NBC, and National Geographic. We share this fact not to show off, but so that you know we understand best practices and professional, broadcast quality methods of converting your media.

Stephen runs My Digital Conversion with the assistance of his wife Abby. He continues to do independent filmmaking via Wilkum Studios [ www.wilkumstudios.com ]. Steve and Abby also run a coworking space [ www.firstnationalcoworking.com ], and an escape room [ [ www.firstnationalescape.com ], and an ice cream / coffee outdoor cafe named Mulberry Thrill in the same building as My Digital Conversion.
